Bolivia

This rarity is sought after due to its sweet, balanced cup first produced in the 1880s. Bolivia's ideal growing climate at high alttitude and dry, humid season, shine through its quality.

  • Coffee's history in Colombia goes back about 300 years.
  • In 1927, Colombian coffee growers joined together to form the organization Federación Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia (FNC)
  • The country is the largest producer of washed arabicas
  • Colombia has two harvests per year: the main harvest and the so-called mitaca (secondary harvest), which guarantees fresh coffee throughout the year.
  • Cultivation takes place in the "Zona Cafetera", consisting of the regions of Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío, among others.
  • The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range, used for coffee cultivation, is the highest coastal mountain range in the world.
